This website is designed to help you find the right qualification for you or your adult learners.
NIACE has worked with several Awarding Bodies to compile a searchable database of qualifications linked to financial education. These qualifications cover a range of curriculum areas and different levels of study. We have brought them all together for the first time on this website.
The Qualifications Centre can be your guide to these qualifications. We have provided basic information about each qualification, including the topics covered and the level of skills students will need to use.
There are currently 32 qualifications in the database, from the basics at Entry Level 1 right up to high-level qualifications at Level 5. You can take your time and browse through all of them, or go straight to what you need using our search.
We have put together some possible routes you might want to follow to access the qualifications and progress between them. (These are just our suggestions, not formalised pathways.) To see an appropriate learning route for you, complete the following sentence:
The reason I want to find a qualification is...
to get better at managing my own personal finances

to improve my own reading or writing or maths while learning about finance

to teach personal finance to adults - I don't have a teaching background

to teach personal finance to adults - I'm already a teacher, but I want to know more about personal finance
Click here to show a list of possible qualifications
to teach literacy, language or numeracy in the context of finance, I'm already a literacy, language or numeracy teacher

Searching by more than one field e.g. L1 & NOCN will show all L1 and all NOCN qualifications not just L1 NOCN
As personal finance is not an officially recognised subject on the QCF it can be a time consuming process identifying qualifications. To help adult learning practitioners and their learners find their way through all these options, in 2006 NIACE began a review of available qualifications related to personal finance.
